Frances Marian Shearin

    

II Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

 

Frances is a native of the District of Columbia( Washington, DC).  She attended public schools and Sacred Heart Catholic School. She further matriculated her education at Shaw University, Raleigh, NC with a BS in Behavioral Science and Psychology; attended East Carolina University, with a concentration in Special Education for children with special needs and Antioch College, in MD for Federal Government Laws and Regulations EEOC Law under Title XII.  Also, she is currently enrolled in WV Christian University.

 

Frances’ religious affiliations and training includes studies at Faith Bible College in Washington, DC and Light Institute, in Forest, VA.She is a member in good standing for 2007-2008 of the American Association for Biblical Counselors through Light Learning Institute, in Forest, VA.

  

Frances is the mother of five biological children, Sandra Denise, James Daniel, Michael Anthony, Albert Oliver Jr. and Kimberly (deceased) and many adopted children from around the world.  Also she has seven (known) grandchildren.
 
Frances’ passion for teaching has afforded her an incalculable quantity of immeasurable experiences and many untold memories of the public schools in NC, DC, and VA. Prior to transitioning to West Virginia, she was employed by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC at the National Museum of American History as a Program Manager in the Department of Education and Fiscal Officer for the Star Spangled Banner Project.  Other duties included a liaison position as an investigator for The Office Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
 
Presently, she is employed as an Outreach/Aftercare substance abuse specialist at Prestera Mental Health Services and weekend relief counselor for REACH (Rape Education Advocacy Counseling and Healing).  Frances is also employed part-time as a Residential Case Manager for the chronically homeless and transitional housing for victims of domestic violence at the YWCA, Charleston, WV.
 
The hunger for Bible literacy and knowledge was transcended as she studied at the feet of Rev. Terry Daniel Streeter, Pastor, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Also other relevant contributors were cultivated and nurtured while studying with and along side of Bishop Alphonso Brooks, the late Rev. Dr. George B. Rogers, the late Rev. David Durham, the late Rev. Robert L. Walls, Rev. Dr. Morris David Shearin, Rev. Paul Hailey, Rev. Livingston Lyons and many others whom she has done extensive biblical research for their ministries at no charge.
 
She was called to preach in 2002, but thought she could teach and that would be enough, however, she finally stop running and surrendered her ALL  and accepted the call to preach in March, 2007.
 

Frances is a member of NEA, (National Association of Educators) Lifetime member of NAACP, NACWC (National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs).  Also, she was nominated and won publication and networking privileges with Metropolitan’s “Who’s Who” in Business, Professionals and Entrepreneurs, 2007.
