Minister Maritiza Williams
"Before I made you in your Mother's womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work".
"I have been chosen by God, and I have accepted my assignment", says Minister Maritiza Williams. Minister Williams accepted her call to ministry in the summer of 2004 and preached her initial sermon on September 18, 2004 at the Tried Stone Church of Greater Love. It was during this time of growth and trial that the Lord birthed out of her "Speak Life Ministries" of which she is the founder and presiding ministry leader.
Minister Williams is allowing the Lord to lead her through her "Nehemiah Mission" of restoring desolate communities and giving insight to the sightless. Speak Life Ministry is an outreach and theatrical ministry that strives to speak life to those who have been denigrated and humiliated by the storms of life, and feel like they have no hope and whom lives have been depleted of love and compassion. For the Bible says, "The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life" John 6:63.
Minister Maritiza, "M&M" as she is lovingly known by some of the youth that she ministers to, strives to serve God with all sincerity and integrity and wants God's will to be done in all that He calls her to do. Speak Life Ministries is locally under the umbrella of Metropolitan Baptist Church, Charleston, WV under the leadership of Senior Pastor Darin G. Freeman, Sr. It is also a sister ministry of "The Churches of Greater Love" in Sterling, VA where Apostle Randolph Witcher presides. Truly it is a blessing to be "Free in Christ". That is what you get at Metropolitan and that is what I was taught to expect while ministering at "Tried Stone".
Minister Williams holds a B.A. Degree in Psychology and a minor in Learning Disabled (L.D.) education. She is a skilled trainer in the area of childcare education and state childcare licensing regulations. She also has a long history of working in mental health as well as parks, recreation and community services. She has a love and passion for the arts, and is among the local artist of play-writes and poets.
She currently resides in Dunbar, WV with her wonderful husband, Mr. Walter "Ray" Williams. Together they have five beautiful daughters; Tonya (26) and granddaughter Gabrielle (3), Rayven (17), Kaila (15), Paris (12) and Kamyl (2). Family is very important and together they share a love for Jesus that keeps them grounded. For a family that prays together, stays together.
